History of VGent Foundation NGO

VGENT FOUNDATION INC. (VFI), a non-stock and non-profit organization, aims to be a dynamic and effective instrument in developing the youths and uplifting the poor masses of the Filipino people in depressed rural areas. It is envisioned to be achieved through good education and proper dissemination of necessary know-how to improve rural life.

VFI was incorporated on September 21, 1994 to serve as the philanthropic arm of the Vgent Group. It embodies the Group philosophy of “Doing Business with a Conscience.” Since its creation in 1994, VFI has already subsidized 32 high school students, donated books to two pilot elementary schools, tied up with the livelihood training programs of government agencies and NGOs, and sent participants to environmental workshop/seminars in different countries of Europe. Its ultimate plans are to build up a trust fund to insure continuity of its scholarship program up to the year 2100.

However, VFI has stopped its operations from January 21, 2013 to December 31, 2016 due to unavailability of officers and staffs to attend in its operations and documentation requirements. Nevertheless, on January 6, 2017, the Gorospe family decided to restore the VFI operations and update all its official documents of operations with the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) for its formal and legal return to business operations.
